CALLING FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS OF WPC

We are excited to announce WPC’s National Convention 2024 to be convened in Hyderabad on June 28 – 30, 2024.

The Convention will give us a chance to celebrate the success of our collective actions, reflect on what we could not achieve and plan ahead for the year. We are fully committed to making this occasion a resounding success.

We are appealing to you – our friends and supporters – to lend us a hand through your contributions for us to organize this milestone event. As you know WPC is run entirely by volunteers and it does not have any formal funding. The contributions of WPC members are small because most members are relatively small workers’ organisations and unions who work with frugal means. The National Convention is an entirely contributory affair, relying on donations and help from our members and friends. We do not have formal funding for this event.

Our overall requirement for the Convention is Rs 600,000. WPC members have pledged to raise about half of this amount but we are still short of Rs 3 lakhs. Donations will help us provide simple accommodation, food, venue expenses and travel costs for those who are unable to afford a ticket to Hyderabad. We are expecting nearly 200 delegates from across the country – from Kashmir to Kerala and from Assam to Gujarat. It will be the largest ever gathering for WPC in recent times.
